I am currently in search of a person to manage the localization and internationalization of products for a company that delivers performance management software to the worlds leading process manufacturing, life sciences and utility companiesanywhere real-time operational metrics fuel performance.

This does not involve translation as they have consultants and partners to do this.

This person should be a software developer with experience in localization that is looking to move away from development and into a product management role.

The person would develop, implement and perform some of the following:

*  Establish development methodologies to enable localization and internationalization.

*  Development documentation methodologies to enable localization and internationalization.

*  Manage relationships with translators and partners which do the translation.

They have some infrastructure in place:

*  AuthorIt content management system.

*  Several tech writers that know that system.

*  A translation company called Lingo.

*  An office in Japan and a partner (Yokagowa) that does the Japanese translation.

*  An office in Shanghai; we are developing local contacts to do the Chinese translation.

*  An office in Bahrain

Ideally, this person would have 5-10 years development experience, preferably building GUI apps and experience in internationalization. This person would have the desire to move towards management and product management.

Alternatively, the experience could be along the lines of a technical writer, but likely this is someone that was very good at tech writing but found themselves looking for bigger challenges.

The person definitely has to be a self starter. This would be their deal to run. They would have direction from VP of Engineering and our Executive VP. There would also be access to resources such as Tech writers, developers, and sales organizations in foreign countries.

This opportunity would reside in Northern California.
